Clean the threads thoroughly and apply a spot of thread grease to the threads.&edsp;&edsp;When you estimate which thickness of gasket to fit imagine which thickness it has to be so that, after tightening and an initial compression after Tweaking of say 18%, the retaining ring will still not be fully screwed down to the base, (IE. Some thread can still be seen to allow further tweaking in future).
After tightening leave alone for two hours then tweak tighten. After ten to twenty-four hours have elapsed tweak tighten again. For best long term results try to do the installation when the ambient temperature and the temperature of the metal on the motorcycle&edsp;&edsp;is between 15 Celsius and 25 Celsius
